今回のお客様は
台湾から日本語を学びに来られた
25歳の“うーさん”
Our customer this time was Mr. Wu,
25 years old, from Taiwan,
currently studying Japanese in Japan.
持ち込みされたのは
台湾・台北の紳士靴ブランド
ANDRONのローファー。
He brought in a pair of loafers from
ANDRON, a men’s shoe brand based in Taipei, Taiwan.
このANDRON、かなり面白いブランドでした。
ANDRON is a very interesting brand.
クラシックなヨーロッパ靴をベースにしながらも、
台湾らしい感性と
現代的なシルエットを融合させたブランド。
The shoes combine classic European shoemaking
with modern Taiwanese design sensibility.
しかも製法は
グッドイヤーウェルト製法。
And the construction is Goodyear welted.
ソール交換を前提にした
長く履くための本格靴です。
These are authentic leather shoes
made to be repaired and worn for many years.
今回は新品の状態で
つま先にヴィンテージスチールを装着。
This time, we installed vintage steel toe plates
on a brand-new pair.
履き始めの削れを防ぎ、
革底を長持ちさせるカスタムです。
It protects the toe area
and helps the leather sole last longer.
そして何より印象的だったのは
うーさんの考え方。
But more impressive than the shoes
was Mr. Wu himself.
台湾の有名大学を卒業し、
日本でも有名なTSMCへ就職。
He graduated from a famous university in Taiwan
and worked for TSMC,
which is also very well known in Japan.
しかしその先で、
「起業したい」
その想いから
妹さんと一緒に日本へ。
But he wanted to start his own business someday,
so he came to Japan with his younger sister.
将来は
旅行会社を経営したいと。
His dream is to run a travel company in the future.
25歳。
でも、もう完全に
“世界基準”で生きている感覚でした。
Only 25 years old,
but already living with a truly global mindset.
日本だけを見ていない。
世界を見て、
世界の中でどう生きるかを考えている。
He is not only looking at Japan.
He is thinking about how to survive and succeed globally.
正直、かなり刺激を受けました。
Honestly, I was very inspired.
これからの日本は、
こういう世界中の優秀な若者達と
普通に競い合う時代。
Japan is entering an era
where we must compete with talented young people from all over the world.
だからこそ
こちらももっと挑戦しないとですね。
That is exactly why
we also need to keep challenging ourselves.
